Now That's a Kitchen!

So, after breakfast, D asked me if I had any special plans for the morning. "No, not really," said I.

Two weeks later, after working all day every day removing all the cabinet doors, cleaning and painting all the walls, cabinets and doors (two coats), filling all the screw holes so that the doors could be positioned correctly with all new hinges and knobs, installing a newly modified pantry cabinet...well, you get the idea.

Looks good, don't you think?

I certainly learned a lot. I learned to have big plans in mind when I come to the breakfast table!

The best part of the day!

Here is the reason I like the second watch: the earth rolls gently toward the coming dawn and invites me to this spectacular show!

This is the view from my big window.

Happy Anniversary, Biscuits

Well, this mini-farm, country home, family residence and (once in awhile) B&B has been on the market for one entire year! For a week we have been working hard on the newly organized, re-arranged and repainted kitchen. Tomorrow, we plan to celebrate. There may be cookies.

In the meantime, the winter has been kind. We are hoping there has been enough cold weather to keep the bugs in check.  This is the red maple tree, beautifully frosted with a wet snow a few weeks ago.

New pictures of the property

We have been reorganizing our space to suit us better. One of the upstairs bedrooms is now my office, and the living room downstairs (where we used to make our master bedroom) is now a family room and craft studio.

There are new pictures on our PropertyGuys website.

Christmas snowfall

A snowy popsicle

You know how the whole world becomes very quiet when it snows all night? This morning every branch of every tree is decorated with a pure white icing. Even the driveway markers, adorned with ribbons for Christmas, balance a cap of snow for the occasion.

Christmas angel

I brought home a beautiful little Christmas tree, and Denise decorated it.

And then, the final touch, a beautiful angel on top.

A Mini-Farm

I just came across this photo, taken in the heart of the Summer, and thought you would like to see how the property tucks into the surrounding farmland. What a little gem!
